Attention at this time is unstable, feelings jump: from the feeling of universal love, to deep sadness for the irrevocably gone old world.

Everything that we perceive, we perceive in relation to ourselves. We are the starting point for ourselves, the zero of our "coordinate system". In order to adequately, without distortions, understand and be aware of the environment, one should become “absolute” zero, and not conditional, that is, get rid of the “displacements” already existing in us.

Learn to catch, displace, transform and throw out any emotion, both positive and negative. Later, if you want, you can choose which ones to leave, but you need to be able to completely get rid of emotions, even pleasant ones. Train yourself constantly in any environment to automatically sense and adjust your emotional background. By doing this exercise, you will understand how unstable and controllable our emotions are. I will not talk here about consciousness, subconsciousness, attachments, fixing the assemblage point and everything else. In the preface I made a reservation that I would leave the theory for other books.

Now I will only say that, roughly speaking, in our head there is always a mass of our and others' thoughts, snatches of songs, someone's phrases, commercials and all kinds of other nonsense. All this is pretty mixed and fragmentary. In addition, we are used to chatting to ourselves in our minds when we think, read, write ... and in general, at any opportunity. It's amazing that while doing this we can still think somehow.

At this stage, you must definitely learn how to stop the internal dialogue in your head. You must be able to enter and as long as possible (preferably constantly) to be in a state of "inner silence". All exercises should be performed only from this state, especially more or less complex ones. And this is half the success in mastering many techniques.

When you read a description of a technique before, you might think, "This is nonsense, it won't work!" And you would be right, because your experience told you that by performing the actions recommended in the technique, you will not get the expected result. But you did not realize your limitations before, you just tried to do the exercises described and did not get any effect. And they expanded the circle of their stereotypes, adding to their experience one more fact: “It doesn't work!”. On that and calmed down. Since then, meeting such "magic" techniques, you immediately evoked the necessary stereotype, supported by experience, and made a diagnosis in advance: "This will not work either!"

Your mistake was that you did not realize that you were trying to do the impossible. All magical techniques imply that the person who performs them is in a certain state of consciousness. You didn’t know this and didn’t even guess that there are some “other” states of consciousness. Therefore, nothing worked for you.

So, a stopped VD is one of the most important conditions for the success of any technique. The inability to stop the VD entails frequent failures and the inability to apply any technique. Until you learn how to stop your VD, all magic will be just a fairy tale for you.

The ability to control and stop VD is not the only condition for success in magic, but one of the most important, so let's move on to the exercises ...

Exercise "Knock out"

This type of exercise is based on the fact that you quickly switch from one thought to another, as if knocking out of your head other thoughts that have settled there. And since you change thoughts quickly, your consciousness weaned from the fact that they settle, and becomes more flexible and mobile.

For example, you start singing a song. You immediately cut it off and sing another. Cut it off again and sing the next one. Then you can change the song for poetry, for some thoughts, for pronouncing your current actions to yourself. The point is to gradually accelerate the change of "current" thought. And now you change your thoughts faster and faster ...

And then bam! Everything flies out of your head, and you find yourself in absolute silence. Your consciousness could not cope with the set speed and shut down. You should remember the desired state and try to return it with an effort of will, without the help of exercises, for this is the main task.

Fading Exercise

The essence of this class of exercises is to follow your thoughts. So you have thought about something, notice this and follow how the thought develops, into what it passes ... And now you see how it leaves attention and fades away.

To increase efficiency, you can resort to "substitution". Deliberately enter into the field of attention any simple idea. For example, many people recommend using a mantra or a simple image for this. Strengthen this thought as much as possible, make sure it grabs your full attention. Hold it for a few minutes.

Then begin to weaken it, but leave it in the field of attention. Gradually, this thought will also fade away enough so as not to interfere with you, and if it has taken your attention well, then the rest of the thoughts will not return for some time. And you get a small HP stop.

This, of course, is a certain compromise and over time you should learn to do without it.

For more concrete example one can imagine a pendulum. Watch him, let him swing to the rhythm of your thoughts. And then start slowing down the movement of the pendulum until you stop it altogether.

You can also follow the breath or “tick” in the style of “Tick, tick, tick,… tick… tick …… .. tick ……… ..tick ……………………………………………………………. .ty ……………. T……..… …". Hopefully explained.

Exercise "Obstruction"

This class of exercise is based on a filter system and is a bit like the Zeroing exercise.

You start thinking and at the same time try not to utter thoughts "to yourself". Feel where a thought is born in your head and when it starts to want to go into a word spoken in your head. As soon as it was born and wanted to become a word, you become aware of it and let it go. It has already been taken into account by you and may go away.

In my opinion, this is the most effective of the trick exercises for stopping VD. Gradually, doing it, you will begin to notice that it has become easy and pleasant to think, your consciousness is very mobile, and you have become, as it were, “smarter”. You will begin not so much to "think" as to see your thoughts in images. You are just going to think about something, as you already see the answer in the form of an image. This kind of thinking happens instantly.

Having achieved this result, you can move on. Make sure that your thoughts stop forming for a while. In fact, you have already removed the VD, but you have not yet achieved "inner silence". You just have to stop forming thoughts altogether. To do this, you can take all thoughts outside the conventional circle and leave them there to wait until you need them again. Feel how all the images gathered around your head and went beyond the limits of your conventionally designated area. Look at them a little from behind the conditional partition and return to your head - now it is empty.

Rampa gives the following modification of this exercise:

Imagine that you are sitting in a completely dark room on the top floor of a skyscraper; in front of you is a large window, closed by a black curtain, without any drawings, nothing to distract. Concentrate on this curtain. First of all, make sure that there are no thoughts in your mind (consciousness is a black curtain), and if thoughts try to penetrate, throw them over the edge of the curtain. You will succeed, this is a matter of practice. The very moment a thought flares up at the edge of the curtain, throw it back, make it go, then concentrate on the curtain again, force yourself to lift it up and see what is behind it.

Once again, as you look at the black curtain, you will find that all kinds of thoughts are trying to penetrate it, they are trying to work their way into the focus of your attention. Throw them back, throw them away by conscious effort, deny them permission to enter.

This is the most primitive class of exercises, based on the fact that consciousness cannot keep too many objects in its field of attention at the same time and on the fact that when we are very busy or perform a complex action, we have no time for thoughts.

The main types of exercises in this class are as follows:

Attention overload - try, for example, to listen to everything around you, capture all the slightest sounds. Now start noticing everything you see, capture all the objects you see. That being said, don't stop listening. Now add to this the fixation of all sensations in the body. How is it? I can tell you with confidence that if at the same time you retain the ability to think to yourself, then you just carelessly performed the exercise.

Another option. Look at the grains of sugar scattered on the table. Try to capture every grain. You can also fix any objects of which there are a lot.

In the later stages, it is good enough to focus well on the sensation of the body and the immediate surroundings.

Modality change - all people can be conditionally divided into groups according to how they perceive the world. Someone perceives everything mainly through sight, someone through hearing, someone through sensations, someone with the mind. Determine what type you are and try to "live in a different perception."

Unusual action - Try simultaneously patting yourself on the head with your right hand and stroking your stomach with circular motions of your left hand. If this does not seem enough, start tapping with your right foot in a certain rhythm, and rotate with your left (in this case, of course, you need to sit on a chair).

Comment

These, in my opinion, are the main types of exercises for stopping VD. However, I will note that there is another option - just stop the VD without resorting to any tricks. Simply by an effort of will to create inner silence. This is the simplest and most effective method, but, unfortunately, very few people it suits :-) To be convincing that it is possible, I will note that I did just that.

Concentration

After you learn to relax and stop VD, it will be the turn of concentration to express itself. Concentration means concentrating on an object of your choice for as long as you like. Concentration must be complete and absolute. You must fully perceive the object and not perceive absolutely anything that you do not need at the moment.

The necessary conditions for concentration are as follows - relaxation, physical, moral and mental, stopping the VD, and then the transition to the "zero state" (see exercise "Zeroing"). After that, you can start doing concentration exercises.

But you can learn to develop concentration at the same time as relaxing and stopping the VD, although it will not be as effective during this period. Therefore, I am presenting the concentration exercises within the framework of this article.

When you master the relaxation and stopping of the VD, you will notice a significant qualitative improvement in your concentration. Until then, you will likely be distracted by your body, your thoughts and emotions. You won't be able to concentrate properly until you learn to master your body. In order to help you somehow cope with this, I will give a series of exercises to develop "perseverance".

Here I will immediately notice that, in contrast to work with VD and relaxation, concentration exercises are best performed while sitting. In this case, the optimal position is the lotus position or any similar position in which you can sit. Lower your hands freely, place them with your palms on top of each other, so that your palms are facing up (like a scoop). The hands, therefore, should rest with the palms of the soles of the feet in the center of the vertical axis of your body. Imagine the head as if suspended by a thread so that the neck and back do not strain. If this is uncomfortable sitting, you can lean your back against the wall or the edge of the bed.

The pose is really very comfortable, especially when you get used to it. But do not forget to get out of it on the sly and stretch your numb legs. And don't sit on a cold floor, in a draft, or sit with your back against a cold wall. When you relax, the effect of drafts and other things on your body is several times stronger. Checked.

Try to sit quite calmly several times for five or ten minutes, without propping up your back with your eyes closed, without feeling anxious or sleepy. Try to concentrate in a position that is free of disturbing impressions. You will probably find that your body is not as obedient as you would like it to be. It is often restless and impatient and is capable of becoming anxious due to tiny sensations, even when you have removed all concerns. Don't let this happen! You should be comfortable and quite comfortable in any position.

Exercise "Statue"

Do one of the variations of this exercise in one session. Every day, do one or two times of your choice from the following list:

1. Stand calmly, without tension, evenly, arms are freely lowered along the body, legs are slightly apart, eyes are closed. Stand like this for at least 5 minutes, making sure that during this time there is no nervousness, impatience or anxiety. The body should remain completely motionless all this time, and you should be quite comfortable.

2. Sit in a lotus (or similar) and sit quietly for 5-10 minutes.

3. Stand as in step 1, but raise your hands straight in front of you, or spread them to the sides, or simply lift them up. Stand still for 5-10 minutes.

Do some exercise in the morning. Be sure to include stretching exercises for your muscles and ligaments. Repeat some of the exercises throughout the day and after the Statue exercise. Work on proper breathing. (Exercises will be given at the end of the article).

Now directly exercises for concentration. I have tried to put them in order of increasing difficulty. Accordingly, it is better to first master the initial exercises, and then take on more complex ones.

Check your body from time to time as you exercise. It shouldn't be tense. It is important! Likewise, the mind should be absolutely calm and relaxed, but collected!

Preparing for concentration

Before starting each concentration exercise, assume the sitting posture described above and do the Entry. Close your eyes and wait until the background in front of your eyes becomes solid. It is better if it is black or dark gray, but the main thing is the monotony and the absence of flicker. When finished, do the Exit and stretch your legs and whole body.

You can't put water in a glass full.

This is one of the fundamental principles of any change. It is impossible to radically change life and rewrite history on your sheet of paper if you act on the basis of the unanimated baggage of experience.

Your puzzle of life will always come together in the same picture, if you use the same elements, how many times do not mix them at the start.

You need to start consciously creating yourself and your new experience with zeroing, with throwing out all the trash from your life: at the physical, energy and mental levels.

The uncontrolled accumulation of the past leads to two things:

1. Endless replay of your past.

2. Slowing down the speed of life

This is when you look at those who do three times more and do not understand how they do it.

The reasons may be different, here you have to look at the situation and ask impartial questions to yourself - "why is this happening?"

General cleaning of life for those who prefer speed and completely new horizons:

It makes sense to clean up life in all three dimensions: past, present and, don't be surprised, future. Yes, in your future, too, there is a lot of shit in the form of ideas about it, forgive me for being so direct, but it also needs to be cleared.

I suggest starting with the present.

It is the most substantive, here and now. Complete cleansing of the current moment from trash will already give you noticeable strength and fresh energy, and you still need it.

The principle is to throw out everything that is possible and even a little more. The bottom line is to put an end to each open question: either complete the case, or cancel, if its need is no longer so important.

The main thing is to remove all hanging questions from the to-do list.

I want to note that here it is not proposed to immediately polish your real aka Cinderella (although, this is useful!) - first you need to put things in order and close the "hangings", even by zeroing them.

But seeing the apartments of some of my friends who have been living in one place for years, or even decades, is just a museum of rubbish from the past. What kind of changes can we talk about?

That is, we often react not to what is happening here and now, but to the past resentment. But in this way we not only do not protect ourselves, but also determine the attitude towards us for the future. Anyone who is afraid of becoming a victim of deceivers behaves like a victim, thereby attracting potential deceivers and provoking them to new deception.

As a result, over the years, many have accumulated such a burden that it is not surprising that they are constantly in a decadent mood. And where there is a bad mood, there are failures. If you are communicating with a person who has brought you a lot of pain in the past, you react to him with fear / irritation as standard, then from the position of zeroing you communicate as if nothing was bad. Thus, you give a chance to correct the situation in the present.

You may not need a warm relationship, but a neutral relationship will allow you not to waste your psychic energy on anger and irritation. And those who are really close to you, the calm disposition of your spirit will delight and sooner or later will motivate you to reciprocate goodwill.

"Zeroing" can be used even when your interlocutor is trying, willingly or unwillingly, to kindle your negative emotions. If you choose what to do, then you will not stab the other in response, but rather joke or simply neutralize the statement. In my youth, I read somewhere from NI Kozlov the phrase “If I loved him”, and when the boss brought a bad mood to work, pouring it out on me, it helped me to react calmly, and in some cases even defuse the situation. The main thing is that I myself should be in the right frame of mind.

Naturally, if you have not done this before, then it may not work right away. This is normal. To begin with, the main thing is to remember how to react in order to bring the situation on the path you need.

Thus, if you "zero", your actions will be determined by the future, not the past. And you will have a much better chance of getting positive development even in those relationships and situations in which there was nothing good before.

And this will not mean that you have lived incorrectly before. If there was no past, you would not be here - at the point of the beginning of your new life.
